Independent running for Menominee County Commissioner in 2028 to keep District 7 affordable, expand public health & district education.

I’m running for Menominee County District 7 because this is home.

I was born in North Plainfield, New Jersey, but moved to the Upper Peninsula and gained ‘Yooper status’ when I was about four years old, growing up in Menominee before eventually moving to the Daggett-Stephenson area, where I’ve now spent more than a decade. Over the years, this area became more than somewhere I lived—it became home. It’s where I grew up, built relationships, and came to understand what it means to be part of a rural community.

As a Latino Sikh and someone on the autism spectrum, I can definitivly say I bring my own unique experiences and perspective to the communities I hope to represent. But above all, I’m a resident who cares deeply about the place that raised me.

I’ve watched the same problems come back year after year. The potholes and deteriorating roads. The transportation barriers that make it harder for people without reliable vehicles to get where they need to go. The challenges that come with harsh winters, power outages, and seasonal weather. The lack of affordable housing and starter homes. The limited healthcare access that can force rural residents to travel long distances. And the lack of entrepreneurial, educational, and workforce opportunities that can make young people feel like they have to leave if they want to build a future.

I don’t believe rural communities should have to accept these things as inevitable.

District 7 deserves a county government that pays attention. A government that communicates with residents, plans ahead instead of constantly reacting to problems, pursues state and federal funding before asking local taxpayers for more, and makes sure our communities receive their fair share of investment.

I’m running because I want young people to be able to see a future here—not because they have nowhere else to go, but because there are real opportunities to build a life here.

I want to help make it easier to start a business, find affordable housing, access transportation, receive healthcare, get a good education, and find a career without having to leave the communities we call home.

I want our roads maintained before potholes become disasters. I want our communities prepared before winter storms knock out power. I want rural residents to have transportation options when driving isn’t possible. I want our schools and libraries supported. I want our county to aggressively pursue grants and outside funding. And I want residents to know what their county government is doing with their money and why.

Most importantly, I’m running because I believe District 7 should not be an afterthought.

We may be rural. We may be small. But the people who live here deserve the same attention, opportunities, infrastructure, services, and respect as anyone else.

I’m not running because I think I have all the answers.

I’m running because I live here, I care about what happens here, I see the problems, and I believe we can do better.

This is our home.

And I want to help build a future worth staying for.
